I love the vacuum cleaner. It is lightweight very please.

I bought this for my winter home in Florida. It works mostly on hard wood and laminate floors, and just a few small carpets located at the entry ways. Had these carpets been woven, cheap fabric or a carpet without some very stiff backing, there is no doubt in my mind that they would get sucked up into the vacuum cleaner and end up breaking this great little beast.

I really like the idea of refurbished keeping the trash out of our land fills, This shark Vacuum works as if it was brand new

I’ve always just purchased a cheap Walmart/Target type vacuum cleaner – Hoover, Bissell, Dirt Devil – all low end models or the “pet” model until this one… I read reviews and wanted either a Dyson or Shark this time for a new home with all brand new carpet. I have a small Shih Tzu dog and have owned multiple dogs at times during my life.
This Vacuum sucks up more dirt and pet hair than anything I have ever seen or used before. I’ve been using it for over half a year now and I’m still AMAZED every time I use it. Not only does it have great suction and cleaning power, it is easy to use, versatile and has a cord that reaches halfway through the house. It easily comes apart to use just the handle for tight space cleaning, the canister comes off for portable cleaning without the floor attachment, it has a carpet and hardwood floor setting/switch… All great features, all easy to use and the I feel like my floors are cleaner than ever thanks to this vacuum.
Oh, it also has an upholstery tool that actually is belt driven for cleaning furniture, the car seats etc. Unlike the cheap models that operate only on suction power to clean. This thing is amazing.
Great vacuum, you cannot go wrong with this one. If I ever need another vacuum, it will be a Shark.

I detail RVs for a living and I fell in love with our vacuum at work that originally was this model, eventually we wore it out seeing as we use it a LOT every single day and we ended up upgrading to the more expensive and even better Duo model, meanwhile I was using an ancient Bissell from probably 20 years ago that my mother handed down to me at home. The first time I used this Shark I filled the canister vacuuming less than half of my living room, I was disgusted to see just how much filth my old vacuum wasn’t picking up and I was living in!!! It was quick to assemble and my carpet looks great and it’s so easy to use and my only regret is I didn’t spend the money sooner! Plus it being a renewed unit it was pretty damn affordable too! Highly recommend!

This vacuum (Shark UV540 Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Certified Refurbished) works perfectly. Was fairly clean with only minimal signs of prior use. Attachments appear new and everything was packaged very well. This is a positive reflection on the seller/refurbisher more so than the vac itself.
I have never used a Shark before and am amazed at the suction this UV540 Lift-Away has. I wanted to try a more inexpensive model before I decided to go with a larger one so I purchase this refurbished model. I don’t care what brand something is as long as it does what I need it to and has all of the features that I need however I also will not pay a premium just to say I have *** brand. This one does not disappoint and I am sold. I have not seen suction power such as this in any other brand (even though I had thought I had found some powerful vacs in the past). The UV540 does have a very small dust cup which for some reason seems to be a common trait in all brands and most models. I think this small dust cup is the only real negative that I have found so far with this model. I have two large dogs and one of them sheds constantly so this smaller dust cup must be emptied often. Given how well this vac works I can live with that undil I can purchase a model with a larger cup. I also would have liked the ability to utilize an actual extension hose for hand tools rather than the hard pipe this has (I have a whole collection for various vacs over the years). The extension hose I have that is a common size but does not adapt to this pipe very well but I will work it out. Even though dust cup is small the process of emptying it is more straight forward, and it is also fairly simple to clean the filter which I found is not so with many other brands that I have used (wife had to ask how to empty it as it sort of confused her due to being much more simplified and she really did not expect that). It would ordinarily be just large enough for an average/large size room (if you don’t have a dog that sheds as heavily as mine) to be able to complete one room or so before having to empty it. I do like the fact you don’t have to take the whole vac outside to clean the car possibly risking tipping it over and damaging it. If you don’t mind emptying the dust cup a little more often or absolutely need a larger one then I would highly recommend this model. For suction power I don’t think you can beat a Shark corded vac (at least I have not found one yet). I will be looking to the larger dust cup model next.
***Edit/update-
Been using this vac for over a year and a half. Still works very well. Twice I have had to repair the plastic protrusions that the clips clip onto that hold the dust bin on. I used structural plastic epoxy that seems to be holding well. If it did not then I would have had to purchase a replacement bin or another vac as it would not stay together without tape. Other than that the only other issue would be the odd size tube that requires some creative construction to adapt an extension hose.
I have noticed that after some length of time the hepa filter will plug up causing the vac to loose suction. Looking at it it did not appear dirty at all but that was definitely the problem and a new aftermarket one solved.
I will definitely be purchasing another when this vac does finally give out (although maybe the model with the larger bin).
****Update 7-3-2024- vac still going strong. I did end up purchasing a replacement dust bin after my epoxy repairs on the dust bin tabs eventually gave out after the cracking (possibly from tipping over) extended further. Also, I did recently discover an aftermarket adapter that clips perfectly into the handle/hose end that allows connecting standard 1-1/4″ attachments that now increases the usability of the vacuum tremendously. I would still recommend the shark vac and if this one does give up will be purchasing another.

This is my third Shark vacuum. I love how they work. The suction power is great and the swivel head gets into most places.

Just received my vacuum today! This vacuum hands down works better than my dyson ever did! You can feel the power of the suction as it effortlessly glides over the carpet or bare floor. This model has a switch for xarpet with the roller or bare floor without. Easy to maneuver with a long cord. The attachments were not generic yet it did not come in the shark box but was packaged well. It did come with owners manual. Easy to assemble no tools needed. One thing that does make me nervous is the hose for the attachments, it is not really taught looks like its been stretched a little, that was the problem with my dyson, hose broke..but will update after some longer use! There are some visible small dings, but in my house its bound to happen anyways. It did come with a brand new filter! Overall, best buy for your money! Shipping was fairly quick
