This carpet cleaner is incredible. We recently moved home after leasing, and the carpets were trashed. We thought we would have to tear them out, which was upsetting because they are only 3 years old. The cleaner got every stain out and keeps others stains from setting (when combined with the recommended cleaner for this machine). The result is a clean, fluffy, like-new carpet with no overwhelming residual fragrance. Be sure to vacuum before shampooing and the day after shampooing your floors. I did have a little trouble with the attachments getting stuck, so be gentle and careful when using them. The carpet cleaner dries quickly and has excellent suction. It’s gentle on carpets but tough on stains. Even set it ones.it is easy to maneuver and easy to maintenance. It works wonders for allergies; the air in your home will be so much cleaner. I love this machine and don’t know how we ever survived without it. A must have for your cleaning supply routine.

I love this carpet cleaner!! It does a really good job! I had another version of this one and it was very difficult to clean the dirty tank and suction area. This one is very easy to take apart and clean!! The engineers did a much better job with this one!!! It doesn’t have nooks that are unreachable to clean. The clear bottom part easily unhooks so it can be cleaned as well! No more gross buildup to look at! The only thing I don’t like is that this doesn’t have a rinse setting. My other one did and I’d do a pass to get the soap out more. I have a puppy who has accidents, so I have to clean a spot every week or two, so I frequently use it and am very pleased !

Es gibt auch einen riss in gerät.

My dog for the last couple years keeps peeing on the carpet in one specific spot, I had a small spot cleaner that worked ok but it quickly got out of hand so I finally broke down and bought this. The first time I used it it seemed to help some but the carpet was still really wet the next day. I used it again but I made some tweaks, so first off like other people have said you need to use really hot water, the opening on the clean water tank is kind of small so I use a 1.7L electric tea kettle, the clean water tank can hold about 2.5 of those. The second issue I had was I thought you held the trigger as you push the machine forward and then go back over the spot backwards to suck up the water. That was not the case, granted if I had read the directions I probably would have figured it out sooner. But you want to hold the trigger as you pull the machine back very slowly and then go back over with the trigger not held down to suck the water back up also very slowly. I personally have not had an issue with any of the tanks leaking.

La primera vez que la usé le sacó lodo a la alfombra, a pesar de que usamos una buena aspiradora, la diferencia con esta lavadora es notable en las fibras de la alfombra. En la foto se puede ver la comparación, al lado derecho sólo le di una pasada. Es un poco pesada por la cantidad de agua que maneja, pero su funcionamiento es muy sencillo, el peso no hace difícil su manejo gracias a las buenas llantas y tiene un alto poder de succión. Es muy buena también para la limpieza de muebles gracias a los aditamentos. La usamos para lavar toda la alfombra del segundo piso y la de la sala, está última blanca, quedó muy bonita, también lavamos todos los sillones. La recomendamos ampliamente.

The multi directional brushes make the difference when cleaning short pile carpet.
Counter intuitive. For better cleaning of carpet. More weight would help the cleaning. Just go slow and it gets out most dirt.

I bought this same version of the Hoover carpet cleaner in 2014, and 10 years later, I am finally replacing it. Not because mine stopped working, but because it was time. (my neighbor was gifted my old one). Any who, this thing has WAY more suction than I anticipated! It isn’t nearly as loud as my old one and pulls up SO MUCH dirt. I have used my old version once a week in my house (1 kiddo under 2, 2 great danes) and I have now used this weekly and have not complaints.
I would 100% buy this again. It is priced great for the high level of clean you get.

The PowerScrub XL arrived a few days ago and I decided to try it out today. The setup was simple.
I filled the solution tank with 50-50 solution/water and the water tank as instructed.
I had a small, cheap carpet I was going to first test it out on. After about 30 seconds the solution tank was almost empty. I turned it off and checked the solution tank and the lid had unscrewed itself. The thing is, I had tightened the lid pretty tight. So I refilled the solution tank and screwed the lid on VERY tight this time and it stayed on.
After finishing the test carpet I moved to the large, family room carpet. It worked fine, though I found maneuvering the machine difficult. The machine might be too heavy for me. I’m 72 and out of shape.
I shampooed for an hour then took a break. I was sweating badly.
One thing I noticed was the suction power seemed greater the more vertical the handle was. I found that walking next to the handle worked better than walking behind the handle. It wasn’t as difficult to push and the handle could be in a more upright position for better extraction.
Another thing I noticed was that every time I turned the machine off the subsequent pass after turning the machine back on seemed to do nothing.
I decided to take a break and emptied the dirty water tank. It was dirtier than I expected because I always take my shoes off when coming in from outside.
Anyway, after the break I decided to rinse the carpet. Wow. There was a lot of soap still in the carpet. I was quite tired so I took many breaks while rinsing. Finally I finished and I was surprised that there was just as much dirt in the dirty water container as there was when shampooing. I suspect that another rinse might still be necessary, but I was exhausted, so I quit.
Cleaning the unit was easy.
Pros : Worked well once I knew what I was doing.
Cons: If the cord was 5 feet longer I could have done the whole room from one outlet. This is not a deal maker, though. The unit was heavy and was a workout for this old, out of shape senior.
What I would do if I had a second chance :
I wanted this machine because of the large tanks. I wouldn’t have to change the water/solution very often. But it was too heavy and quite a workout. I would have purchased a lighter unit with smaller tanks. I would rather refill the tanks more often than having to deal with such a heavy unit as the Hoover. The Shark CarpetXpert EX201 got good reviews and is almost 10 pounds lighter when empty. With full water tanks the Shark would be even lighter. I’d probably buy the Shark if I could do it over again.
