   I bought this in the fall of 2022 and have used it often. Lately I have been using it weekly for a small area because I have a new puppy who marks in the house. It has gotten A LOT of use. As long as you clean the filter and keep it clean it should last at least a year with heavy use. It finally crapped out on me – the engine started grinding and smelled smoke. But considering how often I used it, I’m impressed it lasted this long for little machine. I would highly recommend this product or newer version of the PowerDash Pet. I’ve bought my second one and it’s on the way!

   Also, the storage mat was wonderful. Keeps your storage location clean as the brush area tends to drip after you’ve finished the job.

   My only complaint is I wish the bottle held more solution.

   Side note: I like to add a dash of Mr Clean concentrate to the solution to get a nicer fragrance and I think it boots the cleaning power just a bit.

   I purchased this lightweight carpet cleaner to handle the area rugs in my home. I do not have carpeting, so I was not looking for a heavy duty machine. I cannot speak to how this carpet cleaner works on a carpet, but it was great on area rugs (I don’t have shag rugs). I have a cat and dog. Both shed, so I am constantly vacuuming my home, but needed to clean my rugs. Because of the price, I figured it would be best to purchase this carpet cleaner, as it was actually cheaper than me renting one. As soon as it came in, I opened the box and assembled it. No tools needed. Just click in the handles and you’re all set. Hoover provides you with a small bottle of carpet cleaner. So, don’t go purchasing one. That bottle should last you several refills as the liquid is concentrated and you don’t need a lot of cleaner to fill the dispenser.

   Once assembled, I immediately cleaned my area rug. I would have taken pictures, but it’s dark so you can’t really see much of a difference in a picture. However, the water was black! I went over it a few times to ensure that I properly cleaned it. I had to refill the container twice (8×10) rug to clean it. I then cleaned by 5×7 rug in my home office. Again, darker rug, so you can’t really tell, but the water was black so I am confident it cleaned it.

   When I was done, I rinsed out the receiving container and used this really cool tool Hoover provides you to clean the roller. So, overall, it was a great purchase and I am glad I bought it.

   On a side note, I did watch some YouTube reviews and Bissell makes a similar vacuum that is easier to clean. However, I chose Hoover because cheaper and the reviews showed that Bissell and Hoover were pretty equal on performance. I figured I would deal with the cleaning part. It’s not like I use it everyday. No reviewer mentioned that cool tool that Hoover provides. It could be that Hoover heard the complaints and now added it in. That tool made a huge difference and I was able to clean it quickly.

   First – I ordered this back in December, based on the sale price and reviews, and I wanted a new carpet cleaner.

   My wife saw the box and thought it was the perfect gift for our son and his new dog – so I bought another one today.

   It arrived on time and the packaging is pretty good – the delivery was left out on the stoop (it’s raining, so the box was wet) and there was a big hole in the side of the box. Evenso, everything in the box was undamaged and the contents were dry.

   Assembly was ridiculously easy and I started using it immediately. It’s lightweight, a little small, but I think it works great, especially for the size.

   My house has a lot of carpet and I have two dog, so I feel like I need a carpet cleaner – the reviews for this one were pretty good, so I bought it. I noticed an option to buy a little drip-mat – definitely buy this accessory (or a similar product of your own selection)…. Either way, I think you’ll want a drip-mat.

   I forgot to buy cleaning solution but the package came with 6oz (trial size) – this is great because I could use my new carpet cleaner immediately. The little fill lines in the side of the tank are very useful and both clean and dirty tanks are easy to rinse. I also like that the suction nozzle (curved part on the front that siphons dirty water) is removable and the manual prescribes some disassembly for regular cleaning – I like this option because I’ve had a couple of other machines that didn’t allow for deep maintenance cleaning (of the machine) and I didn’t like that I couldn’t deep clean the inside of my carpet cleaner – to clear up the possibility of a mixed message – I like that I can easily clean this machine and I think this is a useful feature – you don’t need to be a mechanic to clean your carpet cleaner – you just need to follow 6 illustrated steps in the manual.

   Size wise, I think this is the perfect size for my stairs (it fits them perfectly and it’s light enough to carry up and down the stairs). I also think the tanks are the right size to clean one or two rooms before dumping the dirty tank. In this application, I think this carpet cleaner is right-sized for apartments and houses that have a few carpeted rooms – I have a medium sized house and half the rooms are carpeted and I think this carpet cleaner is the perfect size for my house.

   All things considered, I like this carpet cleaner – after I use it a few times, I’ll update the review.

   Again, buy yourself a drip mat.
