Enter the Ecovacs Deebot T30S Combo—it’s been a real game-changer for my household routine. After using it for a while, I’ve got some thoughts to share, including the good, the not-so-good, and whether I’d recommend it.
What I Love
Awesome Cleaning Power: This little robot packs a serious punch when it comes to cleaning. It’s got powerful suction that handles everything from dust and pet hair to larger bits of debris on hardwood, carpets, and tiles. It doesn’t matter what kind of floor I’ve got—it does a great job across the board.
Smart Navigation: One of the coolest things about the Deebot T30S is its smart navigation. It maps out my home really well and follows an efficient path, making sure it doesn’t miss a spot. Plus, if it needs to recharge, it remembers where it left off and picks up right where it started. No more worrying about half-done rooms!
Versatile Cleaning Modes: Whether I need a deep clean for the high-traffic areas, a quick spot clean, or edge cleaning for those pesky corners, this robot has a mode for it. The app makes it super easy to switch between modes and set up a cleaning schedule, so I can have it do its thing while I’m out or even at night.
Hands-Off Maintenance: I love that it pretty much takes care of itself. The auto-emptying dustbin and the self-cleaning mop station are lifesavers. The mop pads even get washed and dried automatically, so I’m not stuck dealing with dirty mop heads. Less hassle, more clean—just how I like it.
Quiet Operation: Despite all that power, it’s surprisingly quiet. I can go about my day, work from home, or even have a conversation while it’s cleaning, and it doesn’t disturb me at all. It’s like it’s not even there.
What Could Be Better
Mopping is Just Okay: While the vacuuming is top-notch, the mopping function isn’t as impressive. After it mops, I often find myself having to go over the floors with a manual mop to get them really clean. The mop pads tend to dry out during use, which doesn’t help either.
Hard-to-Find Accessories: One thing that bugs me is how difficult it is to find replacement parts, like dust bags. They’re not easily available online, and even the official site doesn’t always have them in stock. It’s a bit of a pain.
Battery Life and Charging Time: If you like running it on max suction like I do, be prepared for the battery to drain pretty quickly. It takes a while to recharge, so it might need multiple sessions to clean a bigger space, which can be a drag.
Collision Issues: Even though it’s supposed to avoid obstacles, I’ve noticed it still bumps into furniture a bit too often, leaving some scuffs. I’ve had to manually set up no-go zones in the app to keep my stuff safe.
If you’re looking for a powerful vacuum that does a decent job at mopping too, and you don’t mind a few quirks, the Ecovacs Deebot T30S Combo is a solid pick. Its smart features and automation are huge time-savers, making it a great choice for busy households.
However, if you’re really serious about mopping or if you need to easily find replacement parts, you might want to think twice. But overall, for what it offers in terms of vacuuming and convenience, I’d definitely recommend it—especially if you’re like me and just want a cleaner home without putting in too much effor

I was shipped a boxed of used parts. Full of human hair, pet hair, dirt and dust. Totally disgusting. I’m sure this has to have been an honest error because the alternative would be some sort of scam.

This vacuum is amazing and a worthy replacement of my old Roomba! The first thing that i have to mention and practically makes it worth the entry price alone is the tangle free brush. This is a big improvement in these type of robot vacuums. I have three dogs and my my old robot vacuum couldn’t make it through a single room without erroring out due to a tangled brush matted with dust and hair. It caused me to constantly have to remove the brush, cut out the tangled hair, re-assemble things and send it out on its way. It really removed the fun and convenience factor of having an automated robot vacuum. It actually prevented me from running it when I wasn’t home or available. This vacuum does not have that same problem! It can run multiple rooms, empty itself, and go back for more without me ever having to touch it. Out of curiosity I stopped it mid cycle to check the brush and it was fine – no build up or tangles – needless to say I am impressed.
Beyond that important feature – this vacuum does so much more. It is almost fully autonomous. Once i filled up the clean water tank, and put in a new empty bag – the vacuum manages itself. It goes out and does it job vacuuming, coming back to the station to empty out its container and get a charge to allow it to go back out and finish. After vacuuming everything it will go out to my hardwood areas and mop them using its spin brushes. Like it does vacuuming it will return to the station for more clean water and it will even clean off the dirty brushes with hot water, and then blow dry them off so mildew and mold doesn’t set in. The vacuuming and mopping does a really good job and has minimized the need for me to do regular deep cleanings. In the past two weeks i have only pulled out my full size vacuum once for a deeper cleaning and even then it didnt pickup as much as it normally would. The mopping has impressed me and I havent felt the need to do a manual job on it yet. I like watching it mop because it has a weird arm on the spinning mop head that swings out allowing it to get tightly in corners. Ive never seen another vacuum do that – but its great because it allows it to get almost every square inch of moppable surface.
The app and mapping capabilities are impressive to me. The app took a bit to figure out but i love how as it moves around the house it builds out a map of the walls and even the larger items in my home like the couch and dining room table. I was able to label all of my rooms, add virtual boundaries, specify which are carpet and which are hardwood, and even designate areas that i didnt want the vacuum to vacuum, mop, or both. This is handy because i can keep it out of my laundry room where clothes and socks and such are always on the floor and would cause issues with it trying to go in there. There are more advanced settings I can customize in the app around schedules, how many times it should go over areas when vacuuming, i can adjust the vacuum power and water usage, as well as settings for the base station around bin emptying and mop pad cleaning frequency. The app also has reminders and links to the web store to order more vacuum bags, mop pads, etc making it easy to do maintenance and keep the vacuum running.
This vacuum also fits in nicely with my smart home by allowing me to interact with it via voice. I can tell “Yiko” to start vacuuming, or to go home, etc. It hears me even from across the room and makes it easy to interact with it without having to open the app or manually activate a cleaning cycle.
As a mid price price smart vacuum I feel like this one packs in a ton of advanced features and performance wise, it works very well – even outclassing my older name brand Roomba.
