I had been looking for this vacuum for a bit and finally was able to get one. First of all let me say that overall this vacuum works great for what I need it for. I wanted something to suck up all the hair after a haircut off the floor instead of getting the giant Dyson out and having to deal with cords and attachments, this thing just cuts to the business and gets the job done quick. The other great thing is emptying out contents is so simple, you simply push down on the lever and it opens up and drops out (you can even go further by removing the entire tube and clean it fully with compressed air or cloth). This vacuum is not cheap by any means but if you can look past that remember that you get the Dyson quality with this purchase. The last thing I want to mention as a CON is Dyson shows a wall mount for this unit, however Dyson themselves got back to me telling me that it’s not available and no idea as to when it would be available.

Dyson has done a much better job before of small hand-held vacuum’s. It’s a smaller unit than any other Dyson I’ve owned, but doesn’t bring the power or longevity that the same types of jobs benefit from. I spend more time cleaning up the same types of messes and the standard power setting is not effective – you always have to turn on the unit, then turn on boost, then get to work. Does not use a trigger style switch which is annoying. Combo crevice and brush head tool is gimmicky at best. I haven’t returned it and I use it from time to time, but you should save your $$ and look to something else for your smaller sized vacuum jobs.

Oh my gosh! I love this little vacuum! It’s easy to use, picks up the small stuff well, and it’s cute. I use it along all the door frames, baseboards, and windows sills. Of course, it’s great for small pickups between major vacuuming. Highly recommend.

See above, poor suction even at maximum power; it does not even match the suction from my old Dyson that I was planning to replace.

I like Dyson products and have many. However, this Humdinger is shocking for how weak the suction power is for something that costs so much. I liken it to a Black & Decker $39 handheld which are decent suction for the price, but you wouldn’t pay $260 for it. I picked up my old Dyson V7 Car and Boat vacuum and compared them: the V7 was at LEAST double the suction power. Which is what I’ve come to expect from a handheld. Then when you look at them together you realize that the motor/venturi component of the V7 is at least twice as big as the Humdinger, which makes sense now. But they market it as the most powerful lightweight handheld, but it’s only half right, it’s lightweight for sure. I wish the suction was up to the typical Dyson standards, then it would be flying off the shelves.
It was initially VERY frustrating that I could not find a wall mount for the Humdinger. Not sure why they decided not to offer one…big mistake. But that issue is moot now that I returned the Humdinger and bought a new V8 direct from Dyson for about $70 more than the Humdinger and I even get floor attachments.
On a side note: I finally figured out that if you pay Dyson’s rip off prices for a replacement battery (at Dyson.com), it will last a long time, just like the original battery. If you go for the cheaper replacements found on Amazon which I did several times, they’ll last on average about two or three months and start shutting off every ten seconds on a full charge.

I really love how easily this light-weight Dyson Humdinger vacuums up particles, dust and more. Its powerful suction makes it so easy to quickly and thoroughly vacuum a small space. Its multiple attachments make vacuuming tasks quick and simple, and emptying the bin is a simple one-step. Its only drawback is the price.

I absolutely love the Humdinger! It is perfect for small clean ups. It’s multiple attachments are great for kitchen crumbs, stairs, couches, small rugs,etc. It is also small in size so it doesn’t take up a lot of space. It keeps the same suction power until literally the battery is dead. The canister has a sliding mechanism for easy clean out.
