This vacuum is light, easy to use and works great on tiles or hardwood floors. I would not recommend it for vacuuming carpet, as it does not have the suction power to clean most carpets. I removed all the carpet in my house and replaced it with Vinyl Plank flooring. I already had some hardwood floors as well. The vacuum I previously used for my carpets (Kirby), is too heavy and will scratch my new Luxury Vinyl flooring. It was difficult to sweep up the cat hair with a broom or the soft padded sweeper that I got with the flooring because the cat hair would just fly around in the air. I felt like I was just chasing cat hair all around with a broom. It seemed like it took forever to sweep all the floors in my house. I inherited this same model of Dirt Devil from my mom, so I tried using it with the new flooring, and it worked perfectly. I had been using it for over a year and the latch holding the dirt container broke. I think my mom had it for at least 5 years before me. When it broke, I looked to replace it and bought a Eureka stick vacuum that was slightly cheaper but had a swivel head that I thought would be easier to use. It sounded like a good idea, but when I used it to vacuum under the dining room table and chairs, trying to turn the vacuum head to fit between the chair legs was nearly impossible. The handle would swivel, but not the vacuum head, so I could not steer it where I wanted it to go. I sent returned it and ordered the Dirt Devil and I couldn’t be happier. I vacuum twice a week to get up the cat hair and other dirt on the floor and I clean the filter every time because it picks up so much cat hair. I can vacuum all the floors in less than a quarter of the time it took to sweep all the floors, and it cleans much better than sweeping.

It is a bit cheap feeling, like it may break. But I will be left with a hand held I guess. It does have that option of just being a dust buster. I am a bit let down that there are no rotating brushes on the floor piece for carpet but it is very strong and does a good job of picking up everything. I haven’t had ot long, but so far it is worth the price.

La compre para aspirar el pelo de mi mascota, me sorprendio que la aspiradora es muy ligera, obviamente, limpia la superficie si tiene ligera basura, no creo que limpie si tienes basura como tal, piedras grandes o cosas asÃ, pero para quitar pelusa y polvo, funciona de maravilla, el cable es bastante largo, y al ser pequeña cabe muy bien debajo de los muebles. Esta padre que tenga la opción de aspiradora de mano, lo cual es un plus para limpiar sillones y otros espacios, la recomiendo mucho.

Item #: SD22010- This vac is good on bare floors. But the suction hole isn’t very big/ wide. So that makes me have to take more strokes to complete the job. The suction is ok but a little stronger suction would be better. I’ve had this vac for 4 months when it decided to just quit. What a bummer! I called Dirt Devil and she insisted on sending me a new filter as a “courtesy”. My husband took the motor end out to his shop WITHOUT the filter and blew it out. He turned it on. It came on for about 30 seconds, MAYBE. He felt it and said it was hot/overheating. He waited for a minute or two then turned it back on. It came on for about 2 seconds then went off. He did this twice. I came in and called Dirt Devil again. I told the man what was going on and he INSISTED that I try the new filter before he can send me a new one. They do not refund! So now I have to wait for this new filter, stick it in, wait for the machine to quit just so I can call them back and tell my story all over again. This is B.S. I am very disappointed!!

Definitivamente no es un producto para limpiar “a fondo”, pero para mantener limpio y aspirar rápidamente pisos y alfombras de suciedad en general es excelente. Tengo un gato y con esta aspiradora cada 2-3 dÃas pasarla por la áreas generales de la casa ya sea sin mover muebles o nada muy a fondo mantiene excelente la casa. Sustituye el barrido “por encima” muy bien y muy rápido. Además limpiar el filtro es súper fácil. Recomendada!

For such a small unit the suction is great. I have to admit this really sucks. Best of all it’s very light. Anyone with arthritis or rheumatoid they will find it easy to use. Might want to leave an extension cord on it so you barely have to replug it in. But a great unit. This unit has the larger motor out of the 2 available online. So for the few extra dkars buy this model. You’ll be satisfied.
