Was so excited to get this new cordless vacuum – charged the battery- Put it together (which was a snap) after charging overnight went to vacuum – ran literally 15 minutes! Recharged another day and night – tried one more time – Didn’t even work – light came on and died turned off and back on – started and died.
Charged another day and it did the same
I was so disappointed

This is the first cordless vacuum I have ever purchased and it does not disappoint!
The setup was easy.
The charging station and the battery are both lightweight and easy to store.
The option to use on hard floor or carpet makes this a vacuum that stands out. Oh, did I mention that the vacuum free stands, which makes its easy to store.
The best part for me is that it is a HEPA bagged vacuum. I have a severe dust and dust mite allergy and I needed something that can eliminate allergens within my home.
Only thing this Oreck vacuum is missing is compartments to use additional pieces for stairs and corners, other than that this will be the only vacuum I will need.

I bought this vacuum almost four years ago and used it very lightly, about every week for one room. It was fine. A month ago it died. My vacuum repair man says the circuit board is dead and Oreck no longer makes these parts. I expected a longer life and some customer support for a $500+ vacuum. Oh, and it has a three-year warranty.

The Good:
* Very light weight which Oreck is kind of known for, since it is a vacuum brand which targeted hotel and motel cleaning staff early on. However, its light weight gives it no advantage when sweeping carpet, as explained in the “Not So Good” section below. The light weight is beneficial, only on hard surfaces or for picking up and carrying it around.
* Very bright LED lights along the front edge to illuminate your sweeping path.
* Vacuum bag which is quite a bit larger than most vacuums of this type.
* Has a handle 2/3 of the way up the post on the backside, to facilitate lifting and also vacuuming stairs.
* A unique feature of this vacuum is a hard plastic piece (kind of like a hard plastic squeegee blade) which runs the width of the vacuum head, behind the rotating brushes, which insures that when you are sweeping hard surface floors, that the debris does not get kicked past the rear of the vacuum, due to the rotating brushes, and instead insures that the suction picks it up. Most sweepers with rotating brushes which don’t disengage with the push of switch, simply fling debris behind them. BUT, below you will note the negatives on this feature.
The Not So Good:
* It only has an 18 minute run time on a full charge, which is fine for one large room, but if you plan on vacuuming several rooms, you may run out of juice before you are done. From a full charge, I used a stop watch to see how long it will go.
* Although you can tilt the handle shaft parallel to, and all the way down to the floor, in order to navigate under furniture such as a sofa, the height of the sloped sweeper head housing is 5″ tall, which I found limits your ability to really get under a sofa frame. You can only get a couple inches under a typical sofa, many of which have the frame at about 3-4″ clearance between the floor or carpet and the bottom of the sofa frame.
* The unique feature mentioned above in the “Good”, which is the debris “kick back” strip which touches the floor behind the rotating brushes, makes a fairly loud scraping noise on hard surface floors, since it is in full contact with the surface being vacuumed. It also creates quite a bit of resistance in contact with carpet, which can lead to fatigue in some individuals, trying to push it forward on the carpet. As a 6’2″, 190 pound male, I had to exert some muscle to move the vacuum across short to medium pile carpet. I think that this resistance is the biggest drawback to this sweeper, in addition to what I consider a short run time.
* No additional attachments (such as brushes, or crevice tools, etc.) so it does only one thing….vacuum floors.
Although I received this vacuum at no charge from Amazon, within the Amazon Vine Reviewers Program, in exchange for an honest review, after using it, there is no way that I would pay what is sells for, if I were to purchase it. We have a very large house (5,400 square feet….7 bedroom, 5 bath, 2 story, with finished basement), so we like to have a vacuum on every floor, so we don’t have to carry one up and down stairs. Fortunately for me, over the last year or so, I have acquired a couple of other vacuums at no charge in the Amazon Vine Program. Those other vacuums are a Dyson and a Bissell. The Dyson is a cordless Dyson V6 which is also about this same price as the Oreck, and it only has a 15 minute run time on a full charge, which I also would not endorse, due to cost. The other one is a cordless Bissell ICONpet, stick vacuum, slightly less expensive, which has a variable power control, which extends run time to 26 minutes. The Dyson and the Bissell, on carpet are far more user friendly due to their light weight (like the Oreck), and their lack of rolling resistance, contributing minimal fatigue factor. I prefer the Bissell among the three. So, you be the judge.

I thought or vacuum cleaners were supposed to be well built and a step above vacuums like Hoover and shark. Well not this one. It feels very plastic. The handle does not feel sturdy at all. The small handle used to carry. It is wobbly and feels like it’s going to snap off at any minute. It does not lay down all the way flat to get furniture, and not swivel. It is getting returned.

The suction power is outstanding but if you have thick carpets it is so hard to maneuver. The battery is so heavy and makes it hard to push especially without the self propelled feature.

Since we’re indoors for the most part on most days now, it’s important for us to have the place looking spotless 🧼Cleanliness and tidiness is of utter importance, especially with everything going on. The main obstacle when it comes to keeping our apartment clean has to be the floors. Our floors are light beige, and hence require a lot of maintenance. We pretty much have to vacuum every single day. Even then, it gets dirty pretty easily because of dust settling and our excessive hair fall. Our old vacuum wasn’t picking up all the particles, and we’ve been searching for a more efficient vacuum cleaner ✨ The Oreck Hepa is impressive with its features and delivers a powerful cordless cleaning. The Hepa filtration bags have 4X more capacity and pick up 99.97% of unseen particles. This vacuum is perfect if you have pets, carpets, or hard to clean floors like we do. I’m genuinely very happy with it! 😊

I really love that the settings on this vacuum are hard surface and carpet makes it easy to switch back and forth as I go over rugs etc. It is SUPER lightweight but still has GREAT suction. Highly recommend.
