I bought this for one of my rental houses. It is a very nice spot portal vacumn but the big problem is that it is too
much trouble get it set up to do 1 or 2 or 3 spots but it’s not big enough to do bigger areas as the user has to be on their knees to work it. I got a good back ache just cleaning a space like 20” on my knees. It needs one more extension pipe (not hose)to at least sit on a stool. It is easy to put together and good suction . My renter also agreed with me and was excited to get it but found the same issues as I did. Great price but needs at least a little bigger tube…12” to add would help so you are not down on your knees as you have to use pressure to get the suction needed. I am returning this tomorrow.

The brush and suction on this pulled up so much cat hair even though I vacuum regularly, apparently that is not good enough. This works so well – absolutely love it! I used it on my sofa (teenager spills!) and then on my area rugs – everything felt so clean and fresh. I highly recommend for small areas if you don’t mind getting down on your hands and knees to scrub. It works great!

I have had the little green machine for many years and I think it must be nearing the end of it’s life as it doesn’t do as good a job anymore. I bought this on a whim when it went on sale during prime days and I’m amazed with it! I have three dogs, a kid, and filthy furniture that I was embarassed to have guests use. Thankfully, I used this hoover with the stain remover that came with it and my couches look new again. I’m honestly shocked since some of the stains seemed set in.
What I also really liked about this vacuum (other than the satisfaction of seeing the disgusting waste water it produced after cleaning) was the option that lets you self-clean the vacuum hose nozzle. It’s a nice feature and it means I don’t have to take the whole vacuum apart if I’ve just done a spot cleaning.
I would strongly recommend this product. And since I hate cleaning, I am only impressed by products that make that chore easier.

There are several competitors in this space that are fairly comparable. After reviewing all and purchasing the Shark StainStriker and Hoover, I will be keeping the Hoover.
PROS
– Large cleaning solution and waste water tanks.
– Does not have a dedicated tank for an additional cleaning solution that I won’t be using: I found Shark’s dual solutions to not clean any better than one solution. (I did test using the branded cleaning solutions, but will not be using either in future.)
– Very easy to clean with fewer parts to remove (Shark lets you clean absolutely everything, but it’s a lot of little pieces). I like to clean after every carpet cleaning anyway, so I don’t anticipate a lot of dried build-up. TIP: I rinse with water, then spray with Dawn’s powerwash spray and rinse again. Super easy.
– Main attachment has both nylon and rubber bristle options. Crevice attachment worked well on the creases and sides of a chair I cleaned.
– Although initially a major concern of mine, the heavier weight is honestly not a big difference unless you’ll be carrying up and down a lot of stairs. Mine mostly sits on the ground until I move to another area.
– Compact size/storage. Built-in cord wrap for electrical cord and hose. Attachment holders in base.
– Can generally find a sale and puts the Hoover about $20-30 less than the Shark. TIP: Hoover sells this model with a lot of confusing variations. Mainly it comes down to differences in electrical cord length and attachment options. I wanted the rubber bristle attachment (highly recommend), so opted for slightly shorter electrical cord, since that’s what was available at the time.
CONS
– No pet trapper attachment. This is an attachment some have that collects pet waste before it goes into the unit’s hose. I found it to be pretty gross to clean the pet trapper on the Shark. I’d rather dump the large waste tank and clean out the hose with the hose-cleaning attachment (which you’re supposed to do anyway), than specifically clean a smaller waste trapper. But I also am mainly cleaning up mud and the occasional puppy accident (e.g. during my puppy’s first heavy rain storm, she got scared of going into the backyard!), so your needs may vary.
– Cleaning spray is heavy, so uses the cleaning solution much faster. I intend to use a non-scented cleaning solution, which is a lot less expensive than the Shark or Hoover brands anyway, so not a concern (this will void your warranty on most brands, fyi, but I’m allergic to artificial scents, and no major brand offers a truly scent-free option for portable cleaners (even the “free and clear” has a “light scent”!!) The cleaning solutions (with oxy or enzymes) seem to clean about the same anyway.
– Biggest CON is that the main cleaning head is not at a great angle for long-term scrubbing of the carpet. Compared to the Shark’s pet trapper (longer handle, better angle), it was much harder to scrub manually back and forth on stains for a large area (such as the carpet under our dining table). Definitely a workout and seems like it’d be really easy for Hoover to fix, so surprised it’s not been done. I only (hopefully) need to clean like this occasionally, so willing to put up with it for the other PROs.
– Less suction than the Shark. I mainly clean area rugs on tile (or seat upholstery), so not super worried about fast drying. Everything is pretty dry in a couple hours.
All in all, pretty happy with the Hoover. Rugs and upholstery are definitely cleaner after use. Small enough to store easily, and simple enough to clean that I don’t mind using it right away for fairly small stains. Great option for pet owners.

I recently purchased the Hoover CleanSlate Carpet & Upholstery Spot Cleaner, and overall, I’m very impressed with its performance. It effectively removes stains from both carpets and upholstery, making it a great addition to my cleaning arsenal. The portable design is a huge plus; it’s easy to maneuver and store.
However, the only drawback is the small tank size. I find myself refilling it more often than I’d like, especially for larger stains. If you’re looking for a powerful, convenient spot cleaner and don’t mind the frequent tank refills, this product is definitely worth considering. It gets the job done!

I have had another brand of carpet cleaner, but this one is far more surperior. It is small, suction is great, love the long cord and the hose is easy to use and is easy to store.
Down sides:
When you press the spray button it get stuck and it will just keep spraying (poor design). I learned this the hard way.
The tank that you empty out is a little hard to open.
I would buy it again when this one breaks but they do need to fix the design of the spay button!

Anyway me sipping on some beer here on my we off this little machine is awsome for washing interior of the car small areas but for house holding bigger areas you need bigger machine to do the job much more efficiently and effectively, this is the reason why I bought this machine for interior car washing only

I am embarrassed to shared my couches before imgs, it has been through the ringer. From drinks from friends, spilled wine, coffee, a cat peeing (the cat peed on it and the same day I ordered this out of frustration)
I’ve tried the Bissell before, it….left my couch how you saw it.
I did 2 rounds of full tanks to get it this clean, used all the solution it originally came with. (The solution it comes with is enough for 2 large tank fulls, if you have a larger area pickup more)
It worked wonders, I am SO PLEASED. My couch has had some of these stains *the large ones* for 5 years ive been using a cover to hide its shame. The cat accident wasn’t seeable as she has the diabetus so it’s like 80% just water. BUT IT REMOVED ALL THE SMELL.
If your torn on what brand to get, get the hoover.
