I sealed my floor with an cheap oil based sealer from home depot about 8 years ago. I decided to do a screen and re-coat with bona traffic, which is expensive so I was worried about possible adhesion issues due to the various cleaning products that may have been used over the years.
I went over the whole floor with Bona prep and and rectangle random orbital buffer with the red pad from HD. I then did a small test area with the traffic and it seems to bond great. So far so good.
The image is after buffing with the prep, but before screening.
Pro-Scape Landscaping –
This stuff works like they said, but if you are hand sanding with an orbital sander, be prepared to go through a bunch of clean towels. The towels can be washed, just you will need many to pick up the dust/prep slurry.
