   Replaced wheels on vacuum. One wheel had broke.

   Recently I noticed the rubber exterior of the left wheel on my Eureka upright vacuum was coming off. I tried fixing it but nothing I could think of would work. At the time I had my problem I could not find a replacement on Amazon so I ordered the axle set from Eureka direct. Since then I have discovered that Amazon offers this kit and I suspect it works pretty much the same.

   The axle assembly is held in place by four Torx head screws; you will need a Torx T20 screwdriver to remove it. The four screws attach to a plastic assembly and must be inserted and tightened carefully to avoid cracking the plastic. It is probably desirable to hand start the screw after the new axle has been placed in order to avoid cracking the plastic and do not overtighten.

   Once the replacement axle is installed the vacuum is back to full operation.
