Okay, so here’s the deal. I totally bought this without even reading the reviews first. Rookie mistake, I know. But then I finally took a look and started freaking out a little bit. People were saying it was a total piece of junk! Yikes. But then, it arrived and I had some trouble getting it set up on my Wi-Fi. Turns out, it doesn’t work on 5G and you need an older or at least a 2.4 gig Wi-Fi. After a few tries, I finally got it connected. And let me tell you, when it first started, the front bumper got stuck and things were looking dicey. But I loaded up the mopping pads, sent it on its way, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! The app interface works just fine, despite what some people were saying. And get this, the mopping pad stayed on and this little guy can even tackle carpet! It drove right over my hallway carpet to get to the hardwood bedrooms and bathroom. Impressive, right? And speaking of impressiveness, I have a whole army of cleaning robots, but this one definitely stands out. It’s up there with my trusty vacuuming robot that also had bad reviews but works like a charm. So, as of now, I’m super impressed with this bad boy. I’ll update if anything goes awry, but for now, easy set up and it’s working great!

I have to say, I went from excited to disappointed pretty quickly. I first purchased this item used, but certified through Amazon. When I received the mop and charged it up, it was obvious that it had been damaged, returned, and resold. The laser detection system never worked. I returned it for a full refund and purchased a new, never used one. Now that I have the new one it works great/ as expected. But now, the app is nowhere to be found. Two weeks ago, when I had the defective used mop I was able to download the app from the play store. Now it has been removed. I gave it 2 stars, because it does what it says i.e. mop, but for the money it should have a functioning interface where I can access settings.
Update! This has been a complete hassle since the first time I purchased!!!! Received, returned because it was obviously used and defective. Received new one. Always has something wrong. Loses mop pad, can’t correctly replace pad, have had to reset map for my 900 sqr ft app at least 20 times. And now… the apppppp has a bug!!!! A complete hassle from day 1!!

Brief: Mops well, but round bottom chairs and such knock the mop pad off, so sadly not a set it and forget it kind of thing. I have to put all my stools up and my two leather recliners or it will loose a lot of mop pads. Takes quite a long time, which would be fine if it was set it and forget it, but its not. Jams on floor by rugs. Not on the rug, but because it gets confused. Won’t hook up to wifi. Bissell support has no useful help.
The real issue is that I cannot hook up to the wifi. First one came and screws literally fell out of the bag, and after spending hours fighting with it and couldn’t even get it to manually mop, I noticed the left bump sensor was jammed. All the packaging was intact so I suspect that was factory error. I also hoped the new one would hook up to wifi. Nope. New one will actually mop. Loses pads easily in a minimalist place, and does a pretty darn good job except it never finishes the job. I have a strip one and a half of these wide between the wall and a nice rug in the master bedroom. For some reason this artificially dumb thing can’t navigate that and jams every time. On the floor. Not the rug, it just gets confused and gives up. I’m sure there is a way to solve that by app but Bissel’s support amounts to: make sure its fully charged. Yeah, got it. thanks genius, Everything else hooks up to wifi just fine here. Including the roomba that does the same system of hook up to your phone then to the wifi. Oh well. Its marginal. I would definitively try someone elses though instead of buying this again.
I was REALLY excited about the auto mop pad changing. And that does work

**Another Update**
I still like my ReadyClean mop. But due to the issues I’ve mentioned below, I’ve been in contact with support quite a bit. I really have to hand it to my representative. He’s dug in and asked for all kinds of extra details to try and solve my issues. Mainly, losing it’s map and needing to create a new one, dropping mop pads around the house, and not understanding Daylight Savings Time (apparently). As a result, my service representative has offered to send me a new unit, free of charge, including shipping, so they can really dig into this specific mop and see if they can figure out what’s going on. My new one should arrive tomorrow (just two days after I said I’d be glad to help). If it turns out it’s just my unit, or if it has the same issues, I’ll update here again. This support representative I have has been amazing and bent over backwards to make sure I have a product I’ll like. I have Never had support like this for Any product. Truly gives me hope for the future.
***Update**
I thought I’d update my review. The support has greatly improved. I’ve received very detailed emails, including specific questions about what is going on and asking for pictures of my issues. They’ve also given me a benefit I didn’t ask for as compensation for my issues and input. Since switching to the “one-time” pads, the jamming issue has diminished significantly (but not completely). And they’re trying to figure out why it’s dropping the pads around the house. This is a significant improvement in support over what I originally received, so I thought I’d mention it here. I will update again if they finally figure out what’s causing the issues I’ve mentioned.
Don’t bother with technical support if you have any issues. They have none. I love this mop when it works, but ya see…that’s the problem. First issue, it always starts 1 hour after whatever time I schedule it to run. No way to fix that. It is what it is. Second, the “reusable” pads constantly cause issues with swapping out because they always get stuck. Third, battery lasts anywhere from enough to do the whole house, to enough to do a 5 foot circle. Depends upon it’s mood. Always says 100% when starting. Forth, it does NOT recognize rugs like it says. Fifth, Even though I may have it scheduled to clean the room labeled as Kitchen”, it will go to the spare bedroom and living room instead. That fun little feature is random. Sixth, it drops the mopping pads randomly around the house. I guess it needs to take a poo or something and go back and get a new diaper. Seventh, the voice options? Do NOT try the other ones. Trust me. Nobody wants to hear a little Asian squeeky little girl voice giggling around your house. The neighbors might call the cops. Seriously freaky. Eighth, the little elevator pad swapping thing will drive you nuts by failing about 50% of the time. And lastly, I restate, don’t bother with support. Whomever they are, they only contact you by auto-email in barely readable English and direct you to pages that do not exist or support documents that have nothing to do with your issue. But when it does what it’s supposed to, it’s actually really nice and does a great job. So, there’s that. For me, the good outweighs the bad because I just can’t be bothered. I do Not recommend this to anyone else though. Oh, and toss the re-usable pads. They will cause more trouble than they’re worth. Get the throw-away versions. You can actually wash them a couple times and reuse them before tossing them.
