I’m replacing a bissell 2x proheat from many years ago and I looked at other mfg also. This machine does a good job with pet hair and seems to do a better job cleaning than my proheat and it definitely does a better job sucking up the solution. Its really easy to see how much liquid is coming out of the carpet in the view window. I like how easy the system is to clean, pop off the top and rinse it off. my old machine had the hose attached which was nice but I don’t find this one hard to attach / remove. It is overall lighter than the old one too! The solution tank is easy to remove and fill and so is the dirty tank.
all-in-all this is a good replacement and upgrade.
my two complaints, the dirty tank has a very low empty mark, it doesn’t take much to fill it. I realize you can’t fill the dirty tank completely and you need room for suds so they don’t go into the motor but this seems like an absurdly low level. The other is the brush bar is always running and I fear it will damage the carpet when using the hose because you’re not moving the machine. it just sits there with the brush bars running in the same spot.
The 3-star and lower reviews are mostly highly rated but the concerns listed by many I suspect are out of incorrect expectations. Some seem to expect the same amount of water put down from the clean tank will be picked up into the dirty tank, that will never the the expectation. Having the tanks on the handle don’t seem to be much of a concern with overall weight but that could vary from person to person based on strength.

We don’t have any carpet in our house but we have plenty of area rugs and this steam cleaner works great on all of them. I was worried that it might put too much water down since my rugs are thinner but it was perfect. Very easy to use and cleanup is a snap. I gave it only 4 stars because the brush roller is not removable from the cleaning head. However, Bissell provides a very handy tool to clean the brush attachment and that works very well. The setup is very quick and you can start cleaning immediately upon filling with water. I did purchase the Easy-Fill cleaning solution, but honestly it took so much longer to fill the reservoir that way so the next time I just purchased the regular Bissell soap.

At first I thought this deep cleaner would only just do the surface clean. However, with patience and following the recommendations from the manufacturer it does a great deep cleaning job. Cleaned a whole house that previously had not be carpet cleaned for years and with heavy use and a pet. spent a whole day deep cleaning and the carpets look almost brand new. even got out stains I wasn’t sure would come out. definitely worth the investment for the homeowner for large whole house jobs, and the oops/accidents that crop up during life.
