This Bissell was put through the wringer at my house in its first 3 days of use. It tackled a very large carpet (12×33 ft) that’s 30+ years old and has stains just about as old. I swear, it removed just about every last one of them. It looks brand new. The only additive I used was Bissell Pro Max Clean + Prptect. It worked so well and was so easy to figure out and to handle. I will say it is a little heavy but definitely lighter weight than the ones you rent at the store. LOVE THIS BISSELL

This cleaner works soooo good. I use alittle citrus cleaner with hot water and sucks up the dirt. My carpet looks almost new again. My carpet is 22 years old and people cannot believe it. I vaccum almost every day with having 2 dogs, then one dog, then no dog. Then another rescue.

I love this thing! Cleans super well! One complaint is that you have to empty the tank a lot. If you fill the clean water reservoir all the way for deep clean you’ll have to empty the dirty water tank halfway through before the clean tank is empty. Would be nice if the tank was able to hold all the dirty water from a full clean tank so you didn’t have to stop and empty it. It is loud, louder than a vacuum, but I wouldn’t expect it to be quiet. I used it while my 13mo was sleeping in the other room and she didn’t wake up so good enough for me. The antibacterial solution that comes with it kind of stinks, I’m not sure what exactly the smell is, but it’s not great. It goes away eventually though. Overall I think this is a great machine for the price! Very easy to assemble and figure out, you hear the suction noise change and sound kind of clogged when it’s time to empty the dirty water tank. After my area rug dried I did find that in some spots I could feel a residue from the cleaning solution on it, in the future I will make a final pass with just water in hopes of removing any remaining residue of the cleaning solution. The handheld attachments are very easy to use. I cleaned a very dirty ottoman that my kid uses as a snack table and it worked wonders on it. The water that comes out of the handheld hose is not heated but it works very well. End result was a very clean ottoman and a tank of very brown water, after only about a 10 min clean. Very satisfied with this purchase!

I’m in a rental and I noticed a section of carpet smelled like water got to it and just stayed there, so I used this vac with the oxy boost or whatever and holy mackerel. Sometimes it’s better not knowing, but I got the smell out after going over it several times. I think for a normal stain this may not be necessary. But for set it and mildew, I needed to go over it. It revealed to me the filth that comes in when people don’t take their shoes off. Ugh.

BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet carpet cleaner is great !
After 30 years my Hoover SteamVac with rotating brushes died (a pretty good run), so a replacement was needed. The reviews on the Bissell ProHeat sounded good. Amazon got it here the next day.
Set up was easy. Anyone who has ever operated a home appliance could set it up without reading the instructions, but they did keep me from making any mistakes. With the clean water tank filled HOT tap water and 2oz of rug cleaner soap it was time to head to the carpet.
I swear this machine creates dirt! I mean, my carpet couldn’t have been THAT dirty, could it? The mud colored mess that it sucked up made me question what the old Hoover had been doing all those years. The roller brush brought up so much dirt! The Bissell has 3 cleaning settings, mine was set at DEEP, not MAX or EXPRESS. The only difference I can see between the settings is the amount of cleaning solution that is dispensed. The motor or vacuum didn’t seem to change.
With about half of the cleaning solution reservoir empty the pitch of the motor changed and it was time to empty the dirty water container. The container slid out easily and after popping the rubber stopper, the mess was down the drain. I gave it a quick rinse, just because, and went to reinstall it. It took my a few tries to get it back in, it is a tight fit and goes in easily once you figure it out. Then back to the carpet cleaning.
Clean up was not difficult. A quick rinse of the clean solution tank and that was done. The dirty return tank, rinsed out well, but some fibers were caught in the center tube and unscrewing the bottom of the tank and a toothpick were needed to remove the debris. The plastic Brush Roller Cover came off. At first I was too cautious before I realized it was secured well and needed a bit more effort than I was putting into removing it. More carpet fibers were in the vacuum and needed to be cleaned out using the included tool. Nothing difficult in that. I wish there was an easier way to access the roller brushes other than laying the unit over onto the floor, but the included tool again did a great job.
All in all I have used this unit for about a month, gone through at least 2 quarts of rug shampoo and found it does a outstanding job at cleaning my carpet. My animal companions are birds and it does a wonderful job when they hit the carpet and not the cage.
A few things I wish were different, but they are very minor and specific to me. I’m 5’9″ and wish the handle was an inch or two longer. The lever to unlock the handle is activated with a foot press on the right side of the unit, great. The On/Off stitch is a button on the side of the handle that you need to press with your finger. Why the engineers decided to go with that and not a foot switch is beyond me. You need to do some cleaning of the machine after use and not just finish and put it away.
I would certainly buy this unit again
