Loved the size of the floor part of the sweeper being bigger than most others I compared it to, plus it has two large brushes underneath compared to most having one. I also chose this model of because of the longer handle size so I’m not bending over more like smaller models require.
A schematic of the finished product completed is provided inside the box. It appears very simple and intuitive. The photo shows numbers indicating various pieces or parts and in the box there are only four poles and a grip to put the handle together, then attach to the sweeper.
TIP ONE: The pole parts come without any corresponding numbers to match the assembly picture. Initially the four poles all look to be identical with each having a threaded bottom to simply twist one piece into another, creating the handle. However, take a moment to compare the threading of all four poles. Find the one pole with slightly more narrow threading. That one is meant to be on the very bottom to attach to the top of the floor sweeper.
TIP TWO: When twisting the other pieces easily together, I found one that would not easily thread and literally stuck tight halfway. (It was not in the wrong place.) Sometimes learned a little extra bit of paint inside the threading can cause it to stick. Take the pole and untwist it, then quickly with a little force, twist it back and forth a few times as you go. This movement will loosen the bits paint up and allow the two pieces to connect completely. Ready to use!!
Why only 4 stars? I happened to purchase a smaller brand on Amazon for my daughter’s college dorm/apartment. Both this Bissell and her model were used at opposite ends of a long 10’ runner in the college kitchen after a week of four students walking thru and cooking/spilling various spilled cereal, grass pieces, random pasta pieces. We each took an end and met in the middle with our own new hand sweepers.
Both were picking up spilled food, cereal, and even small pieces of grass tracked in from outside. I was surprised to find it me took several more passes over dirty areas with the Bissell as it kept leaving or dropping a piece it had previously picked up. Compared to the smaller one that rarely needed more than one pass, most two over heavy areas, having only one big brush.
However the Bissell collected more hair on all carpets and mats it was used on. Being a household with four animals at home I loved this. However removing the hair from the brushes was very difficult. I wish it had come with a tool used for removing hair caught on the brush like my daughter’s did.
I went home and now am using an older plastic brush to pull the hair off, and also find a smaller handled fork that seems to be more study and working more quickly as it’s metal. Yes I still use my regular sweeper that doesn’t have a brush for bigger jobs but still prefer this for quick runner clean up and works great for front covered porch mats.

I really like this sweeper and it keeps me from having to pull out the big vacuum more than once a month, if that. Others haven’t worked as well for me. I have a dog who sheds and the roller brushes were getting so wrapped around with so much hair that it was a chore to clean it. That is until I discovered the way to clean it very quickly. I used an old bristle hair brush which dug in and whipped all that hair off right away. Now I just happily roll my little lifesaver around without dreading cleaning the rollers. It picks up whatever those particles are that come from who knows where. Here’s a funny thing….it picked up a dog biscuit, rolled it right in. The sweeper is better at rugs than my hardwood floors. Although it picks up most stuff there too, it will leave a bit behind. It’s no big deal, I just come back with the broom and pick up a few pieces, usually weed stems my dog picks up in the yard. ( Not the other kind of weed.) I prefer to use a lightly oiled dust mop on my hardwood floors anyway.

The handle has short pieces that are screwed together to form the long handle and the male threads have a pretty good burr on the end and the female threads aren’t countersunk so as it was delivered it could not be screwed together. So I countersunk the holes and then ground a slight chamfer on the male threads on my belt sander and all was good, but if you aren’t knowledgable about machining you wouldn’t be able to put it together. I have an idea they are all like that because to do that at the factory would cost more money. But I would think that being a well known brand that it would be able to be assembled out of the box. Also where the handle screws to the sweeper portion the small piece it screws to seems almost fragile to me so I don’t know how long that will last. But it does work as it should. I just needed something for the area rug that my kitchen table is on, as opposed to plugging in my vacuum.

Not a huge fan of the lines that it leaves behind, but it works so fantastic and I feel like I vacuumed the whole house in just a few minutes. It makes it easy to look past the lines! Would definitely recommend this product!

I remember using sweepers like this as a kid, and for some reason, they seemed to fall out of favor over the years.
I’ve spent thousands on vacuums designed for pets, but they always clog—especially with hay from our guinea pigs. Nothing has worked for hay… except this! A huge thanks to the random person on Reddit who recommended it. Now I no longer have to disassemble vacuums to clear clogs!

This is a good little sweeper. It’s not a vacuum, so it doesn’t get everything up, but it works great for quick clean ups and picks up more than I thought it would (dog hair, lint, etc). I love using it between regular vacuuming during the week as it gets up little bits on the area rugs for a quick clean.
