This product is replacing a unit that has been in use in our home for approx., 25 years. The old one sounded like a train pulling into the station! This Allegro unit is very quiet and was super easy to install. From unboxing to running was about 30 minutes, which included removing the old unit. The suction is incredible – we haven’t seen our carpets look that nice in a long while. You can tell that the suction is doing its job! We were very happy with the delivery being before scheduled time and the price is very reasonable and we hope this will last just as long or longer than the unit it is replacing.

We bought this in 2021 just a year after the home was built. However, two years later and the machine is put out of commission. Allegro had us pack the motor up and ship it back to them to either repair the motor or send us a new one. That was a few weeks ago and as of today they haven’t sent us a motor yet. Because the company is located in Canada, you’d have to deal with international shipping delays as I’m located in the USA. So what happened, why did the machine fail so quickly? This is what happens when you use this as bagless instead of bagged. The inverter filter is the only filter this machine uses. And because it doesn’t have many layers of filtration, dust can escape through the filter even around the filter ring and destroy the motor bearings. This is not a defective issue, it’s just the way they’re designed and it’s a design that’s been around for many decades. It’s not just with Allegro but also with other brands as well. It would’ve still been alive if we were using disposable bags. But the only problem though is you’re also using the utility valve, you cannot use this as bagged. Also the filter clogs quickly, it is a mess to empty out and clean the filter, and it doesn’t self clean the filter like it claims to. Other than that, it’s been great for us. Powerful, not very noisy, and it’s well made for the money hence why I’m giving it two instead of one stars. Otherwise if we were using this as bagged, it would’ve been an easy four star. If you’re going to use the utility valve, this is not for you because I promise you you’re going to have motor problems. Or add another inlet valve in the garage if you want to use this as a garage vacuum while using it as bagged but avoid using the utility valve.

This was a replacement for a thirty year old Beam. The Allegro seems very well built. It has more suction and is quieter than the unit we’re replacing.
We have only had it for a few days so I can’t comment on reliability. Like most central vacuums (including our old Beam) the Allegro has an Ametek Lamb motor. I just hope the new vacuum motors are as reliable the as the ones they built 30 years ago.

Seems really well made and feels industrial. The latches are a little hard to use but ok. Had to glue the muffler on as it would blow off otherwise. The power is fantastic ..

I’ve got this thing about year and a half ago.
It’s a beast. Old good proven technology I guess.
I did not find any “technological breakthroughs” there, it looks almost like my 20-years old Beam only newer and well-made.
And there is a good thing about it too – i did not have to modify any pipes as the inlet is located just at the same spot as my old one.
So i just hung it there, plugged in – done.
Quality is good, muffler somewhat works, but it’s in my garage so I cannot care less about muffler.
I made only one mistake – I got greedy and bought one size too big than needed for my square footage.
Suction is just too high. I have to open the hole on handle to be able to drag it though carpets.
So for a good price i get a real good machine.
Now it’s only one thing to see – how long it will last, eh!
