We have a shepherd, lab, husky mix. Can you imagine the hair? Every time he flies through the house poofs of hair come flying out. Its like tumbleweed. Can you imagine how many crunchy dog treats he eats? And he has the run of the whole house. lol Bought the Bissell 2252 in hopes that it would work.
It arrived in just two days. The ease of putting it together was awesome with just two screws. The ease of movement with the swivel action made it a delight to move around the living room. The nozzle cord actually stretches without effort. A long cord helped immensely in the movement around the room. And it has a feature that we never experienced. The vacuum actually was able to bend so that I could fit it under the dining room table allowing me not to have to move the table or stretch using the nozzle.
And yes, it is simple to dump the contents in the trash.
One room done. Now on to the others. Thank you Bissell!!

We received this product and I was very happy with how easy it was to put together however, I then tested the vacuum on a low pile rug and within 20 seconds the motor blew and flames appeared from the vacuum, burning and melting the plastic. I have been offered a refund as I believe it is a faulty motor however, the cost of posting the vacuum from Singapore to the USA is simply not worth it.

I’ve had this around a month and so far, so good! Strong suction, love the swivel design and emptying it is a breeze! Long hair from the bathroom floor and elsewhere doesn’t seem to get caught in the cannister OR the rotating brush / beater bar. This replaced and OLD Hoover that I’ve had for close to 20 years and little by little pieces started to break and it was time for a new one. The Bissell is lighter, and I am able to easily vacuum our carpeted stairs by carrying the vacuum by the cannister handle and lip under cannister – EASILY! While the stored attachments seem to fall off while I’m using the vacuum I can overlook that by how well it is sucking up dirt and dust. Our rugs are not new but when I used the new Bissel it sucked up so much fiber seemed like brand new rugs. Guess old one wasn’t as thorough. I hope it lasts because I love it so far!

Being in the dog care business, cleaning floors is an everyday task, often vacuuming 2 to 6 times daily. I chose this Bissell based on both video and written reviews. My previous vacuum was not a Bissell but was in the top 2.
I have 100% porcelain tile flooring and only one 10’x10′ area rug (where no dogs are allowed).
PROS: Assembly upon arrival took less than 10 minutes and setting it to bare floor was self explanatory and simple. The vacuum has a nice wide suction path and I really like the “squeegee” on the bottom that guides debris into the brush roller over pitching it around like my previous vacuum. The suction is great and the noise isn’t all that bad. The dirt canister is quite sizeable and extremely easy to remove, empty and replace. The swivel feature works great as do the onboard attachments.
CONS: The cord is short and I added an 8′ extension to reach 1500′ from a center plug location. The attachments themselves work great but like all onboard systems, the “6′” hose really doesn’t stretch that far without the entire vacuum falling over therefore really giving only 4 to 5 feet of reach at best. The two piece extension wand constantly falls out during regular vacuuming if not snapped in perfectly. They supply 4 attachments but only 3 onboard places to keep them so the least needed one remains on the closet shelf.
My last upright vacuum (Shark Liftaway) lasted 8.5 years with heavy use and I’m hoping to get that here. At only $120, and the high usage, that’d be a bargain. The pros and cons are nearly balanced for my usage/criteria and the cons are an important usage feature, so they brought it down a star.
I’d definitely recommend this vacuum.

I have 2 other vaccuums (major brand rhymes with Bark) they just do not have the suction power I need or the large canister. With a Golden and 2 cats, I needed something strong. This vaccuum is everything I could dream of. The suction power is top notch. The picture of the stairs and rug below is BEFORE I vacuumed. The 2nd picture is how much I got. I did the stairs 2 days ago. What normally took me 25 mins to do, I was done in 10. I am amazed. I tried every tool that came with it and I love them all. Saw some reviews it was really loud. It’s not. This machine is more powerful than my shop vac. Oh and the retractable cord, this just is the best.

This vacuum is way better than my shark navigator as far as suction on my thick carpet. The pet hair tool on my steps has an awesome suction as well. love how the extra pieces fits on the vac so you won’t have to worry about misplacing them.
Assembling was very easy there’s to little screws to hold the handle in place i don’t know if it’s my screwdriver but screwing them in wasn’t an ease to me. The hose is not long at all so reaching high places might be a problem but you gotta do what ya gotta do to make it work and once again the powerful suction trumps minor flaws. It gives a cheap toy like look. it’s an awesome buy to me so far.
