I bought this central vac unit to replace a decades-old Kenmore appliance for which I could no longer get parts. The Allegro was pretty much a plug and play deal. This unit is more powerful than the one it replaced: even though it uses fewer watts, it has more suction. It was very cheap and came quickly. It cost about the same as just replacing the motor, and is completely self- contained. Both low and high voltage hook ups were a no-tools breeze. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I haven’t had it long enough to test its reliability. If it goes a year with no problems, I’ll up the rating.

Replace a unit that we had for some 23 years. This one was even better in its suction capabilities and was quite a bit quieter.

I have had it for a couple weeks. The unit works fine so far. At first I though the suction was bad but then I found that I had a tube disconnected in the attic. Once I reconnected it the suction was good.
